The quick answer
With AI Studio, you can try several AI models at once. Keep working in Photoshop while they run. Then compare the pictures and put the best one back into your image. You can also save prompts and use earlier settings again.
Higgsfield and Krea also have Photoshop plugins. Photoshop has its own AI tools, too. Compare the steps you need for your work, not just the names of the models.

Keep these in mind
- Try models, compare results and return to Photoshop in one place.
- Check the saved picture. A small preview does not mean the finished picture is small.
- We make AI Studio. This is our feature overview, not an independent quality test. Links below show where the information about other tools comes from.
What can each tool do?
We checked these features on October 24, 2026. We read the tools’ own help pages. We did not run a speed or image-quality test. If a help page does not mention a feature, that does not mean the tool lacks it.
| Tool | How you work with it | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| AI Studio | Start several models at once. Compare the pictures and put your choice back into Photoshop. | Choose the model and picture size. Check the result before placing it. |
| Photoshop Generative Fill | Select an area. Choose an available Adobe or partner model. | Which models and settings does your Photoshop version offer with your account? |
| Higgsfield Photoshop plugin | Higgsfield describes tools to create and edit images inside Photoshop. | Check settings and plan limits in the plugin. The website may offer different features. |
| Krea Photoshop plugin | Krea describes new images, background changes and new lighting inside Photoshop. | Which models, references and image sizes can you use in your plugin? |
| Magnific Image Upscaler | Upload a picture and enlarge it. Compare the result and download it. | May the AI add new detail? Choose a suitable mode. Check faces and text. |

Try several models at once
Start a few models in AI Studio. You can keep editing in Photoshop while they work. When the pictures are ready, compare them and choose one.
Sending your picture to AI Studio and putting a result back take short steps in Photoshop. A busy AI service may make you wait. The models may finish at different times.
- Choose a few suitable models and a clear request.
- Let the runs finish while you continue editing.
- Compare their results, then place the one that best meets the brief.
Your finished picture does not get smaller when you save it
AI Studio keeps the picture at the size the AI model sends back. The small pictures you browse are previews. Your saved result is separate.
The model decides which image sizes it can make. A large picture can still have wrong faces or text. Check those details before using it.
You can also enlarge a result in AI Studio. Keep the first version so you can compare them. Check colors and details in the saved picture too.
Show the AI what you mean
A reference is a picture that guides the AI. For example, it can show the chair you want to keep. AI Studio sends it to the models you choose, using the inputs they support.
Models can accept different numbers of pictures. Use a few clear references. Then check whether the AI kept the parts that matter. A reference helps; it does not promise a perfect match.
Put the result back in the right place
Choose part of your picture before you start. AI Studio can put the result back into that spot in Photoshop. It adds a Smart Object: a separate layer you can move, hide or adjust.
You can work on another document while you wait. AI Studio remembers which picture the job came from. If you crop or resize that picture in the meantime, check the position again. Close any open Photoshop dialogs before placing the result.
Find a good setup again
A prompt is the instruction you give the AI. AI Studio keeps a prompt history and lets you save useful prompts. You can reuse a prompt or the settings from an earlier job.
Each job and result has an ID, so you can tell them apart. The job keeps the input and references too.
Want someone else to continue? Create a Handoff package. It brings the prompt, settings and pictures together for another AI Studio user. Check which files are in it before sharing. The same settings may make a different picture if the AI model has changed.
Choose settings that fit your picture
AI Studio shows settings for the model you choose. For example, you may be able to change the picture size or add references. The choices depend on the model and its supported connection.
Choose AI Studio when you want to try several models, compare their pictures and pick up earlier work without starting over. That is where it can save you repeated steps.
