The quick answer
After an update, a different model may be selected. A different starting image or new settings can change the result too. One poor picture does not tell you the cause.
Compare a small new test with a saved older result. Use the same original and request. Change one thing at a time.

Keep these in mind
- Check the exact model name and app version.
- Use the same picture, marked area, and example images.
- Describe the difference: blurry fabric or changed letters, for example.
Record what changed
Note the old and new app versions if you know them. Check the chosen model again. The same tool name does not always mean the same model is behind it. Check the prompt, example images, crop, and requested picture size too.
Read the update notes and retired-model list. Adobe records these changes. The app on your computer and the AI model online can change separately. An older app cannot bring back an online model that has stopped.

Compare the same task
Use a copy of the original. Do not use last week’s edited JPEG. Load the same marked area if you saved it. Show the same layers. One extra visible layer can change the picture the AI receives.
View both results at the same size. Do not judge only small previews. What is different? Are the letters wrong? Is the fabric smooth? Does the light come from the other side? These are easier to check than “the picture looks worse.”
- Keep the earlier result ready to compare.
- Note the original, area, prompt, model, and settings.
- Make a small new test within your budget.
- Compare the same part at the same size.

Check one possible cause at a time
If an example image is missing, add it back and try again. If another model is selected, check whether the old one is still offered. Do not change the prompt, model, and crop together. You would not know which change helped.
AI pictures can differ even with the same instructions. A saved prompt does not guarantee an identical image. Some tools offer a fixed starting number called a seed. That does not guarantee the same result in later model versions either.
Does only the saved JPEG look different? Compare it with the open Photoshop file. Check the save settings first. Note the file type and color settings. That is a different problem from a wrongly generated picture.
Show the difference and keep good results
Give support a small example with short steps. Show the earlier and new pictures. Name the app version and model. Say what you expected and what happened instead. Share client pictures only with permission.
Try a suggested fix on a copy first. Keep the approved picture and the Photoshop file with layers. Your finished work then stays safe if a model changes. A clear comparison helps support investigate the problem.
